  • In which order should waterproofing sprays and care products be used?

For brand new items, we recommend treating your goods with a waterproofer immediately after purchase. If you item is not new, always make sure to remove surface dirt from the material before waterproofing. Afterwhich, care products can be used. (The only exception to this is when using the Nano line of products because they leave a water repellent structure on the surface and should be used at the end of the cleaning and caring procedure.

  • How do I waterproof appropriately?

Hold the spray can the same way you would apply hairspray. Spray from a distance of 20 to 30 cm in order to produce a fine spray dust. If you hold hairspray an inch from your head, you are going to have that one sticky spot, so you can imagine it would be the same idea with the leather protective spray.

Always spray outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. For initial waterproofing, repeat the spraying procedure at least 3 times and make sure the material does not get too wet. Due to friction, the waterproof protection wears off after 8 to 10 times of wear so make waterproofing part of your calendar.

  • What is the best way to dry my shoes?

Never dry your shoes next to heat sources because it makes the leather brittle. Even using a hairdryer is not such a good idea. If you want your shoes to dry quickly, stuff them with newspaper to draw the moisture out of the leather. Additionally, we recommend wooden shoe trees.

  • Do I need to waterproof new bags or shoes?

As a rule: yes. New items are rarely waterproofed by the manufacturer before selling. After purchasing, we recommend you spray them at least 3 times before wearing.

  • How do I remove greasy stains?

Greasy stains such as oil, butter or shoe cream residues can be removed with our REINIGER SPRAY. Simply apply the spray onto the stain and, depending on the type of material, rub or brush while the material is damp. Before doing so please check the material for its compatibility with the spray. Also, please be gentle while cleaning so you do not damage the surface.

  • How do I remove wax stains?

Wax spots are best removed if you try to get off wax residues with a blunt object (i.e. the back of a knife) first. Then put one or two pieces of blotting paper on the wax stain and iron the spot with a hot iron (temperature: wool). Remove remaining wax with a brush. For optimal results you can use our REINIGER SPRAY as well.
