It has come to our attention that the COD feature on major e-commerce platforms is being abused by unscrupulous delivery riders.

Here’s how it goes: CollonilPH ships out the COD order of the customer. The rider delivers this to the customer, and accepts the COD payment made by the customer. He then claims that there is a duplicate order shipped out with exactly the same order#, details and tracking number on the waybill. (We’ve seen some photos sent to us by customers, and mind you, they look legit.)

A few customers were tricked into paying for the “duplicate” order, only to find out content of the package is a scam (like half-filled mineral water bottle wrapped in used clothing).

A number encountered the same “duplicate” order modus, but rejected it, only paying for the legitimate order. But when checking the app, despite receiving the Collonil products and giving the cash to the rider, the order is marked as failed delivery and for return to seller. For these orders, the COD payment is not remitted to us. Once we get the return order, products inside are used clothing. And we are having a hard time filing for claims, because some of the requirements are a copy of the valid ID and signature of the rider on a rejection form, which they always refuse to provide. And because we wear masks nowadays, we are also unable to identify them properly.

Please know that we never ship out duplicate orders. If you encounter such deliveries, please make sure to take a photo of the rider’s valid ID, as well as the legitimate order and the “duplicate” order and report this to the e-commerce platform. It is also worth notetaking that this is happening moreso on one e-commerce platform than the other, all of which are COD orders.

As such, we recommend you refrain from placing COD orders for now. Pls also ensure that upon receiving your legitimate orders and paying cash to the rider, he tags it as delivered. Let us not feed into these activities where a good system is being taken advantage of to commit fraud and theft.
